I’ve got a couple of projects on the go at the moment so not much different there. My D&AD project is finished so I shall have that uploaded in a couple of weeks time as well as a small booklet I produced for my self study on ‘intimacy and connections’. Other than that, I hope you hall had a great christmas and new years. Hasn’t the last 10 years just wooshed by.
Hey guys, thought I’d leave an update of whats going on at the moment. 2nd year of university is done done done (in fact it was finished a few months ago) I received some great feedback for my motion project which is a great plus for me as I hope to go into that field. FINGERSSS CROSSED!
For some more up to date news, I’m currently doing a few jobs here and there for Beggars Group so I can buy something lovely for myself (digital slr? camcorder? something else? not quite sure yet). I’m also working on an entry for the E4 Stings competition. Slowly getting there but here is a sneak peak at a bit of it.

Commercial Task [2009]
Here is my final project for my motion graphics module. We were given a random magazine to create a motion indent. I got PRETTY PONY CLUB. awesome! I’ve tweaked a bit of it since my hand in date as there was a few problems that I didn’t notice. Here is the revised version. Hope it makes you want to buy a pony or the magazine.

A part of my University brief. We had to read a chosen book over the summer then produce a pamphlet of the size of A3 folded down to A6. This was reverse side of my fold out pamphlet. The whole image consists of quotes and keywords that were use in the novel ‘The Mezzanine’ by Nicholson Baker. This includes the name ‘Papa Gino’.

Mobile Movie – Project 3 [2009]
My brief was to produce a title sequence to introduce ourselves and disciplines in the style of, or evoking the approach of a creative practitioner that I like/admire. The restrictions was to only using a mobile phone to record/shoot my motion piece. I was however, allowed to edit with the use of a computer but this also limited me to use any effects generated within the computer, this includes masks, computer generated text, colour correction etc
This was my end result. (above) Its a very jittery but its pretty hard to manage without a tripod of some sort. I quite like how it came out though.
Something I’m very wary about is the fact that the university seems to love ‘personal’ projects. Not in the sense of working to on our own idea but rather the choice of project being about us. I know its a good way to introduce ourselves but we’ve done similar projects so many times and if we want to introduce ourselves we can always do it on our own accord outside, or even inside university. Don’t get me wrong though, these projects can be lovely to work on (this one was).
I’ve whacked in a lovely high res photo below too Happy hoo haa
